Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the vice presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), celebrated her birthday on November 22 with a meaningful act of philanthropy. She made a generous donation of essential supplies and cash to the Nyohini Children’s Home in Yipala, Tamale, as part of her commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.

The donation, made during her campaign tour of the Northern Region, included a variety of much-needed items for the orphanage. These ranged from staple food supplies such as bags of rice and cooking oil to toiletries, biscuits, and soft drinks. Additionally, a cash contribution of GHC10,000 was provided to help meet the operational needs of the institution.

Addressing the management of the Nyohini Children’s Home, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang lauded their dedication to caring for orphaned children under often challenging circumstances. She encouraged them to continue their good work and assured them of her sustained support in the future. Her remarks reflected not only her acknowledgment of the vital role the orphanage plays in the community but also her personal commitment to fostering social welfare.

The manager of the Nyohini Children’s Home expressed profound gratitude for the timely donation.
